Mission Statement
Our mission statement is inspired from this meme:
In Spanish, when you want to encourage someone not to give up, you tell that person “Lechuga” which is the short pronunciation of “never give up” in Spanish. Just kidding, "Lechuga" means Lettuce in Spanish.
Welcome to our website! We believe that we should never give up when it comes to finding more sustainable ways to live. Through this website you will be able to see our progress of our garden for our environment science class . We are learning how to garden in hopes of trying to grow and prepare homemade food from the plants that we grow in our garden. Our main goal is to get our hands dirty and promote sustainable agriculture in our community.

Hey! My name is Sean Liu and I'm a junior at Arcadia High School. My hobbies include playing basketball, collecting shoes, listening to music, and sharing memes. I love taking APES because I get to interact with many of my peers and it's a very social environment. It's very fascinating learning about our world and what we can do to help. I love going on service learning activities and helping the earth. I'm very excited to work on this next project!
Hello!! My name is Vanessa Vargas and I am a senior in Arcadia High School. I spend most of my time in the Black Box acting, singing, or dancing. Though I am very passionate about theatre, I enjoy spending time outside of the Black Box and getting to know the world around me. APES has been a wonderful way to separate myself from the theatre; I've learned so much about the impact I've had on Earth and how I can help reverse the negative effects I've created. I am so excited to start this project!
Hi there! I'm Ellie Lee, 18-years-old and am a senior at Arcadia High. When I'm not doing homework or studying, I love to sight-see, read, take photos, hang with my friends, and binge-watch Netflix. Of course my favorite past time is to EAT! Coming into APES, I did not expect this class to be such an eyeopening experience. I've learned a lot about my personal impact on the environment and learn more ways to reduce my carbon footprint. I am excited to learn how to grow fresh produces with my lechuga buddies.
Hey! I'm Jocelyn Lam, a senior at AHS. I like to read, watch videos, hang out with friends, etc. Nothing special.
APES has been a wonderful experience. I learned so much about the environment and the world. It's been really fun, and I hope to have more fun as I finish off the school year.
I've never grown anything before, so this project is really exciting so far. I can't wait to work on this garden with my group!
